According to a new study singing is good for your emotional wellbeing. Psychologists found that people who sing together are happier, more satisfied and enjoy higher self esteem.
The singers who meet on Wednesday’s between 1.15 - 2.45 pm, in Room 6, The Methodist Church, 19 Stratford Road, Bromsgrove, B60 1AS agree.
“from absolutely terrified to euphoric in 90 minutes”
“delivers the feel good factor”
“it has really boosted my confidenceafter each session I leave with a smile”
Numerous studies have found that singing relieves anxiety and contributes to an improved quality of life.
It turns out you don’t even have to be a good singer to reap the rewards as singing can produce satisfying and therapeutic sensations even when the sound is not the greatest! But, of course, the more you sing the better you get and feel!
As William James, the philosopher and psychologist, said “I don’t sing because I’m happy, I’m happy because I sing”.
In Sarah’s sessions sharing the same experiences and feelings together, with lots of laughter, is helping the group find their singing voices, make new friends and entertains the passers by!
Sing and Tonic sessions start again on September 9th at 1.15-2.45pm.
